Rev. Phil Baskerville, Team Leader. Phil, appointed as our Team Leader in October 2013, joined Shiloh Church having ministered within the Anglican church for almost 30 years. Phil’s experience includes team based ministries in Liverpool and Chester, schools ministry (especially in the Wirral), theological tutor, chaplain and head of religious education for a non-denominational Christian school in Kenya, missions work in Kenya as well as mission education and candidate selection. Phil was Mission Priest for a Guernsey parish church before hearing God’s call to lead Shiloh. He has a passion for shared ministry, equipping and releasing each member to play their part both within the local church and also at a wider level, between churches that are prepared to partner in mission together. ‘Serving God together for His Kingdom’ could well be Phil’s motto! Phil and his wife, Sarah, have a huge heart for people and community and we are delighted to welcome them to Shiloh. They have five children – Tom, Rachel, Megan, Lydia & Brandon variously at school, college and university.
Phil Eyre, Church Manager and elder. Phil moved out of a career in finance in response to God’s call and joined the team at Shiloh. He is a recognised pastor with the Baptist Union of Great Britain. As well as working for Shiloh, Phil is keenly involved in the New Wine Training Centre in Guernsey as their ‘hub director’, helping people to train in Kingdom Theology in the island. His other interests include serving on the boards of Canaccord Genuity Wealth Intl (the firm he previously worked for) and Guernsey’s Drug Concern charity. In addition, Phil is involved with a business called ‘Lifethrive’, a business using psychometrics to aid personal, professional and spiritual development. Phil is married to Rachael and they have a daughter – Hope.
Chrissy Salmon is our Youth Coordinator and Community Evangelist. Having worked and trained with Oasis, Chrissy brings a wealth of experience to our youth work and is a creative and passionate leader. Chrissy is also keen to work together with other local churches to ensure we are maximising our impact across the island. In addition to heading our youthwork, Chrissy regularly leads our cafe church on Sunday evenings.
Jane Kewell is our Minister in Training and is an elder. She has recently completed a Kingdom Theology Graduate Diploma, accredited by the university of Chester and is seeking recognition with the Southern Counties Baptist Association as a Regionally Recognised Leader. Jane is actively involved in all aspects of the life of the church – preaching, teaching, heading our Messy Church team, leading relationship courses and much more. She is married to Andrew (see below) and they have two children – Josh and Naomi.
Andrew Kewell is our Pastoral Care Coordinator, having heard God’s call to leave a senior job in IT with a major investment bank. Andrew has a particular passion to serve our seniors, the sick, lonely and hurting. Andrew is also part of our worship coordinating team and a mentor with the Caring for Ex-Offender’s programme.
Other staff team members include Gene Rowe, our church administrator. Gene is a real credit to the church, helping to make sure things happen. Martyn Salmon cleans and tidies for us, a mammoth task given the age of the property and the beating it takes every week!
